  1. NEVER! Actually, that sounds about right. It's all part of this 'hush hush' mentality. Funnily enough, I was just telling my friend how surprised I am to find so few hits on quitting the PhD. I was sure there would be loads of stories on the web about people's experiences of leaving academia, but there are so few. It's almost like people are terrified to say anything at all negative about it, even if they've had bad experiences. Strange...

  2. Actually you are right. I only know of 2 people who openly published their terrifying PhD stories on the web... I'm pretty sure there more than 2 "academic rape" victims out there. They just want to keep it private, I guess. Just like many rape victims.
